Decree No. 340/PR/PM/97
On the Creation of a Post of a
National Mediator

the Ministers Council
Accordingly with the Constitution.
Accordingly to the Decree No.
200/PR/97 on 16 May 1997 stating the nomination of the Prime
Minister, Chief of the Government.
Accordingly to the Decree No.
221/PR/97 of 20 May 1997 stating the nomination of the Government
members.
Proposed
by the Prime Minister, Chief of the Government, The Ministers
Council heard during its work session on 19 June 1997.
DECRET
Article 1 : A post of
National Mediator to the Prime Minister, Chief of the Government.
Article 2 : Under the
authority of the Prime Minister, the National Mediator is
responsible for the restauration and to maintain Civil and Politic
Peace.
Within his task, he could be
responsible of punctual and specific missions.
Article 3 : The
National Mediator has rank and prerogatives of a State Minister.
Article 4 : The
National Mediator can request any service or person susceptible to
assist him in his mission.
Article 5 : The present
Decree which abrogates the Decree No 380/PR/93 of 24 July 1993 takes
effect at the date of its signature and will be registered and
published in the Official Gazette of the Republic.
